The Dolma La Pass Extended Trek (3N / 4D) is a short yet challenging high-altitude trek in western Tibet, designed for travelers who want to experience the spiritual Kailash Kora while crossing the highest point of the circuit, the Dolma La Pass (5,650 m). This trek combines trekking adventure with cultural and religious immersion, offering panoramic views of Mount Kailash, sacred lakes, and Tibetan monasteries. Ideal for experienced trekkers with limited time, the route covers the most scenic and spiritually significant sections of the Kailash Kora.
Day Wise Itinerary
Arrive at Darchen, the base of Mount Kailash.
Short acclimatization trek toward Dirapuk, the northern base of Kailash (~10–12 km).
Overnight: Camp / Guesthouse in Dirapuk.
Highlights: Views of Kailash, local monasteries.
Early morning trek to Dolma La Pass (5,650 m), the highest point of the Kailash Kora.
Descend to Zuthulphuk.
Distance: ~15–18 km (strenuous, high altitude).
Overnight: Camp.
Highlights: Spectacular mountain vistas, spiritual rituals along the Kora.
Trek back to Darchen (~8–10 km).
Rest and optional local sightseeing.
Overnight: Camp / Guesthouse in Darchen.
Transfer to Shigatse / Lhasa for onward journey.
Optional sightseeing en route.
